Advanced Camper Information 2017

[ email sent to parents of registered 2016 Advanced Campers (there will be changes: look for the update) ]
Hello parents and participants,

Thank you for enrolling campersĀ in the Bolinas Stinson Summer Camp backpacking trip of 2016. We are sending this message to clarify a few details about next week.

The organizational meeting originally announced for Sunday is postponed until MONDAY the 25th, at 11:00am at the Bolinas School. Please bring your pack ready to go, so we can conduct a pack check. (Loaner backpacks will be available at this meeting if needed.) The purpose of this gathering is to distribute food for the trip and organize carpooling to the Pt. Reyes trailhead.

From July 25th-27th we will explore the Pt. Reyes National Seashore trails and campgrounds, learning basic camping skills, naturalist skills, and about the self and community in nature. We will return to the Bass Lake trailhead in Bolinas, on Wednesday the 27th, at 4:00pm. Please pick up your campers or have carpooling arranged, and if possible bring your campers’ favorite snack or beverage and enough to share with the group. We will have a short closing ceremony; parents are encouraged to participate.

The following day, Thursday the 28th, we will meet at the Tennis courts in Bolinas at 10:00 am. This day is a day of reflections and celebration at the beach, so bring all beach toys and provisions necessary (i.e. swimsuits, wetsuits, boogieboards, surfboards, towels, hats, sunscreen, water and lunch).
